Unum partners with Disability Management Employer Coalition on educational series
A leader in employee benefits, Unum (NYSE: UNM) and the Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) are teaming up on a series of online educational forums. The webinars and conference session will provide industry updates on trends in disability and absence management.
“HR professionals have a strong desire to stay current on topics related to FMLA, ADA and absence management,” said Michelle Jackson, assistant vice president of Workforce Solutions Group at Unum. “As an industry leader in employee benefits, Unum has a deep pool of subject matter experts on these important topics.”
Nearly 2,000 professionals participated in the first three Virtual Education Forums, held earlier this year, to learn more on topics including guidance for when and how to communicate with employees about FMLA, paid family leave, and strategies for managing call centers.
Upcoming online forums include:
July 17: “ADA: Navigating through the process.” Presenter: Danette Washum, manager in Unum’s Leave Management area, and Michelle Jackson, assistant vice president of Workforce Solutions Group for Unum
Sept. 18: “The building blocks of absence management: Keys to developing a successful RTW program.” Presenters: Marcy Ledford, director in Unum’s Workforce Solutions Group
Nov. 13: “Working caregivers: Multiple jobs, multiple stressors, multiple leaves – oh my!” Presenters: Stephanie Willett, director in Unum’s Workforce Solutions Group
These sessions are held at noon Eastern/ 9 a.m. Pacific. The one-hour presentations will be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session. To register, visit DMEC.
Industry professionals can also learn from and network with members of Unum’s Workforce Solutions Group at the 2018 DMEC Annual Conference in Austin, Aug. 6-9. Along with a show booth, Unum will present an educational session on how to minimize musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace. The session will provide insight into ways that employers can identify and quantify Musculoskeletal disorder risk factors as well as the bottom line impact to their organization and will highlight three Unum customers and the innovative approaches they are using to address this issue.
