Corporate Communications Manager
Shawn Steiner is a Corporate Communications Manager, supporting the Inclusion & Diversity team. Shawn has decades of experience in marketing and communications for nonprofit and for-profit organizations. As consumer public relations director of Cotton Incorporated, she was part of the team that brought back the iconic "The Fabric of our Lives" campaign and worked on corporate and social responsibility programs highlighting sustainability throughout the supply chain.
Shawn made the transition to nonprofit work as the Marketing and Communications Director at The Trevor Project, an organization focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention efforts among LGBTQ+ youth. She also served as the Media and Communications Director for National Advocates for Pregnant Women (NAPW), where she focused on work to ensure that no one loses their constitutional or human rights because of the capacity for pregnancy.
She earned a B.B.A. in marketing from Baruch College in New York City. After living in Brooklyn for almost 25 years, Shawn recently moved to Columbia, SC where she is enjoying life with her wife and toddler son, August.
